Competition from at home and abroad is forcing many companies to globalize new product development in order to better serve markets and achieve efficiency. Little is known about the current trends, drivers, barriers, management practices or the impacts of offshoring NPD on company performance. How much offshoring is occurring, in which industries and where geographically? Are the primary motivations for offshoring, such as reducing costs, reaching new markets and accessing talent matched by actual costs savings, sales in new markets and talented design teams? It is being sponsored by the PDMA Foundation and hosted on The Performance Measurement Group web site. Benefits of participation The results will provide valuable insights regarding...
Survey participants will receive a copy of the project summary report. The survey is currently limited to U.S. companies, but it is expected that the survey will be extended to companies in other countries in the future. It is suggested that you print the survey first and collect your answers to the questions, as there is not a save function for your responses. All answers must be entered in one online session.
